Event OVerview
Glow Gala was the first drag show hosted solely by the Resident Student Association. Prior to this, RSA would always collaborate with other organizations. This drag show sold out of all 250 tickets prior to the event, got a Red Bull sponsorship, and had an incredible turnout for some great performers.
I was the one who pushed RSA to plan this drag show without collaboration to show the student body our ability to independently plan great events. I selected the talent lineup, coordinated with the talent booking agency, created the marketing materials, coordinated all purchases & riders, organized the venue & green room setup/supplies, and ran day-of logistics for the show.
My ROLE
ENGAGING WITH THE THEME
In order to invite more audience engagement, energy, and participation, I ordered glow sticks, light-up fans, and other glowing items for the crowd.
This addition to the drag show created an electric environment where students cheered along, waved their glow sticks, and fanned the performers with their light up fans.
These items were also great keepsakes for students to remember the night.
